The Sphinx (or Svincus) as Sherif said it, was said to be a
guardian of the area. It was carved from a single sandstone right where it
stands and even with a broken nose and missing beard, it’s an impressive
creature. Some say it was built at the same time as the pyramids (around 4000
years ago) and some say it’s even older.
